About
Who
we are:
Salop
Amateur Radio Society is a group for Radio and Electronics
enthusiasts in and around the county of Shropshire (Salopia).
Though essentially a local group, we have members throughout
the UK and world wide who have links with amateur radio and
Shropshire.
We are a friendly and active group meeting
weekly on a Thursday evening in Shrewsbury for the many events,
courses and projects that the club provides. (see the calendar and courses info for details!)
Those who may be
interested in club history can find a brief narrative of the past 50
years here. We
look forward to seeing you, please check the calendar to see what's
on and drop in to see us. You can download a membership
form here.
If
you are already a shortwave listener or scanner enthusiast you can
usually find us on a Wednesday evening on our "Club
On Air Net" on
433.375MHz (RB15) via the GB3LH Repeater at around 20.30 clock time.
Location:
A larger scrolling and zoom-able map may
help if you are not familiar with the area.
SARS meet at The
Telepost Club, Railway Lane, Abbey Foregate. Meetings are at 8pm most
Thursdays - see Calendar section for details.
To reach the
Telepost club, bear left off the exit from the gyratory system along
the minor road running to the left hand side of the Abbey. Look out
for a small and easily missed turning on the left, just past the Indian
restaurant. Follow this to the end and turn right, follow the road
past the houses and park in the club car park to the rear of the
building. Entrance to the club is via the main door in front of the
bowling greens.
